One channel setting cannot answer two different questions

An independent guide at hoodwarfare.wiki, marked updated October 18 and reviewed here on October 19, connects the team-only channel with muting a noisy lobby. The page has no named author visible. Its useful prompt is the reader’s problem: wanting to control unwanted voice. Its channel advice needs a narrower evidence boundary.

The issue is not whether team chat exists. It is whether selecting it changes outgoing microphone recipients, incoming voice reception, or both. Those are different behaviors. A description of whom you can speak to does not by itself establish whom you will stop hearing. We have not independently tested the current game client.

What the official voice announcement establishes

The October 12 announcement labeled 1.0.10 introduces voice communication with the team or the whole lobby, plus push-to-talk and an open-microphone option. It does not document a per-player mute workflow or explicitly define receive filtering when changing channels. Treating team selection as a guaranteed mute remedy adds a conclusion that the post does not establish.

Similarly, a working microphone only proves an input path. It does not prove the receiver has voice enabled, the intended output device, or matching channel behavior. Identify whether you cannot transmit, cannot hear a friend, or want to stop hearing someone before changing settings.

A small reception test is more useful than an assumed fix

Our editorial suggestion is to test with consenting friends using short, recognizable phrases. Record the installed versions and the voice options actually displayed. Keep the sender’s setup constant while changing only the receiver’s channel, then repeat. If practical, compare a teammate and a player on the other side. Record any restrictions that prevent that comparison.

Ask separately whether your own voice reached the intended person and whether you heard each sender. Do not substitute a private recording or a solo bot session for another person confirming reception. Do not assume the game provides microphone loopback. These are proposed observations, not results already measured by this wiki.

If your build exposes a voice-volume, voice-disable or individual-mute control, record its exact label and check its observed effect. This article does not certify that all those controls exist. Restore your preferred settings afterward and avoid repeatedly changing devices, channels and key bindings together.

Use the symptom-specific Wiki path

The October 17 announcement for 1.0.1.8 reports microphone-related network and crash work. It does not supply missing mute instructions or guarantee that every voice problem is resolved. For voice-triggered closure, keep the device, version and action for support instead of treating channel selection as an established crash fix.

Continue with the linked voice-chat Wiki checklist for local input and transmission, the no-audio guide for speaker output, or the playing-with-friends guide for session joining. A useful report states the intended audience, the options selected and what each participant actually heard.
